What should you look for in a lawyer after the storm?

aftermath of a storm

We decided to make this post because, like many of you, we see lawyers come in droves after what happened in Southwest Louisiana during Hurricanes Laura and Delta. Many of these attorneys specialize in personal injury and most likely do not have experience with what’s called “bad faith insurance.”

If you are having issues with your insurance company after a storm, you don’t need an attorney who primarily handles car wreck cases. You need someone whose entire legal career has been devoted to representing home and business owner’s issues during insurance claims, in matters of contractor liability, and after natural disasters. You also need an attorney who has handled thousands of these types of cases before.

Should I hire locally?

Many people feel it’s a good idea to hire someone local. While “hiring local” may be a good idea when hiring contractors, your local attorneys may not have the experience needed to fight for you in an area of law that is so specialized. What you do want, however, is a law office that is reachable, with a physical office, support staff, and multiple forms of communication.

Our bad faith insurance attorney, David Anderson, does nothing but battle insurance companies for home and business owners. When he’s not representing people after hurricanes, he’s holding insurance companies accountable after hailstorms. And in between, he represents people in contractor liability cases. In every instance, he’s standing up to billion-dollar insurance companies and making them pay what they lawfully owe the policyholder.

We have offices in Houston, Corpus Christi, and Victoria; and will travel to any corner of Texas if we are capable of preventing an injustice.

It’s Personal. We understand.

For David, it’s personal. His family’s home was severely damaged by Hurricane Ike in 2008. He saw firsthand the predatory practices the insurance company employed to lowball and deny claims for his parent’s home after the storm. Since then, he’s spent his entire career learning every way to make insurance companies pay what they rightfully owe.

If you’ve been battling with your insurance company over a legitimate claim, message our Facebook page or text/call us at 361-648-6888. We will evaluate your claim free of charge, and if we see the insurance company using their dirty tricks to keep from paying you, we will fight them tooth and nail, and you can leave your insurance problems to us.

In Texas and Louisiana, if the insurance company is acting in bad faith, THEY are responsible for our attorney fees!
